  I think this is something you REALLY NEED to discuss with your dentist and urologist together at the same time. There is something SERIOUSLY wrong with this combination of events, causing this to happen. It could possibly prove fatal if not corrected in time. So schedule an appointment with BOTH OF THEM together to figure out what is going on with you.

  Is it the process of brushing your teeth or possibly the sound of running water that makes you want to pee?  The latter is quite common.

  You are not alone. I to feel the urge after brushing teeth. Never really thought about it but I'm sure it's just a habit thing or like they said running water.

  [/quote]I had the same problem-and it kept getting worse as I grew older. I saw a urologist for the big five-Oh, and asked out of curiosity. (It came out of a discussion regarding weaker bladder in general with age.) He said there are combinations of ingredients in commercial toothpaste that cause this among some. He recommended good old-fashioned baking soda. Voila! It doesn't happen anymore.

  Can't say that I've ever had that reaction.
  What makes me pee is to get cold.  I think my bladder must shrink when I feel cold.

  key wording in mine.  I can't remember a time when this has not been true.  i am 55 I think if it was fatal it would have proved itself by now.   My cardiologist pronounced me fine after my heart valve replacement.    This was occurring long before that operation

  I think it has more to do with the sound of running water than the actual brushing of teeth.

  Just standing up is a trigger for me. Since you probably stand while brushing, this could be a trigger as well. Doc says not to worry about it, the theory I have is that my excess weight bears on the bladder when standing.

  It is most likely the running water. Also, you can train yourself to want to pee when you brush your teeth. It happens to me too when I brush my teeth just before bed.

  I have done for as long as I can remember,,, wether an electric or normal toothbrush and never have the water running.... so you are not alone
