  My culture makes shirtlessness largely inappropriate. If I were in a situation like you describe, I would certainly follow your example.

I carry a shirt from the house to the car and put in on when I get somewhere where I need one. When I leave the shirt comes off on the way to the car. If I am walking between places that require a shirt, I generally leave it on.

  My local community Shop/PO requires me to have a shirt on so as I normally taking post up the shirt goes into the bag with the post in and put on just before I go into the shop and off as soon as I come out. Most times I take a different walk home across fields so the shorts go into the bag as well to make that part a nude walk.

  I wear a shirt most of the time to block the sun. White or light color can often be cooler than sun on bare skin.

If I am walking between places that require a shirt, I generally leave it on.[/quote] I would add that in a beach town I will often carry a shirt so I will have one if I need it, but this is a fairly common practice in those communities so it doesn't seem odd. Similarly, at one time, Six Flags Great Adventure allowed men to walk around the park and wait in line shirtless, as long as they put on a shirt when getting on a ride. I was generally carrying my shirt and putting it on when getting on the ride, and removing it as soon as I got off. Since there were probably as many men carrying shirts as wearing them on a hot day, it didn't seem at all weird. Six Flags now requires men to wear shirts everywhere in the park except in the vicinity of rides where they are likely to get wet..

I live in NJ but have been to Six Flags over Texas also. Shirtless tolerance varied between the two. I remember once when Six Flags Great adventure was still shirtless tolerant except while riding, I took my shirt off at Six Flags over Texas and two security guards told me to put it back on or I would have to leave.

  I wear a tank top if I'm required to wear a shirt in a casual setting. I like to at least keep as much of myself as bare as possible.

In warm weather, it goes on in the parking lot when I arrived comes off as soon as I am out the door.

  I, unfortunately , Have a body that makes people sick to look at. So I only take my shirt off when I am pretty sure I am not going to be seen by anyone. But at a nudist resort, I would go all nude because people are expected to be excepting of everyone who takes their clothes off.

I dont know and havent seen you but that a self conceived notion that just is not good to have. We are all human and have the same parts in different sizes and colors, not different beauty levels. God created us in his image. Who are we to criticize Gods creations or his image?

Don't often take my shirt off in the church parking lot. Never did at work before I retired. Always do at the gym if it is warm enough and usually do at stores.

  I have quite a few more shirts than slacks and shorts combined, even though I wear shorts only whenever I can in the summer.
  There are several reasons for this. It seems like shirts need to be changed more often, there are more styles and that seems to increase the need, and most of my t shirts and some of my casual collared shirts have a logo or design with special meaning to me.
  Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

  In the summer, I'm naked as much as possible. Living out here in the West Virginia mountains, there's lotsa secluded places for naked hiking and camping.
  I only wear a shirt when it's required. Then it's a loose fitting tank top.

  Had an interesting encounter a couple of weeks ago. I am friendly with the neighbors, enjoy their company, and we do favors for each other all the time. This fall I mowed their lawn and picked up the leaves while they were on a three week vacation. As a thank you I was presented with a souvenir tee shirt and the wife said that I could wear it while I mowed the lawn. Most of the time I do wear a shirt to keep the sun off of me, but when the temp and humidity are high I sometimes do shed the shirt. In this case I will probably ignore the hint.
