Fond memories of showering with my Father.
Just curious if anyone has any experience, thoughts or stories of showering with their father or grandfather.
My father and I showered together from when I was very young until high school. My family was always Naked and or in our underwear when in our home. This seemed very normal and common in the 1970s. Nudity was not uncommon or looked at as offensive in any nature.
I even remember showering with my best friend and his Father when I stayed the night at their house, went to the beach, or camping when they offered shower facilities.
Now as an adult, I often think about these days as great memories. These are the days when MEN were required to be Naked at the YMCA, as well. Love to be Naked!!
Wish the YMCA would go back to requiring men to be Naked in all pools, sauna, and steam room.

My dad and I started showering together when I was 10 after my mom and him divorced and she moved away. I was an only child and he raised me as a single father after that. We became very close and bonded during that difficult time after she left. Showering together in the mornings before school was one of my favorite experiences!

Joe, great topic. In short, yeah, regular things in our house growing up. Never seemed like a big deal. School, gang showers, everyone naked. The Y, same (at least for a few years).
It's sad we hide that from boys today. They grow up having no idea what the average man looks like naked, so nothing to compare with except the exceptional fit/endowed guys in porn... not average. My urologists says he gets an abnormally large number of young men coming into his office to talk about penis enlargement, and as a rule are all normally sized men. Their view is skewed. It's like measuring average intelligence using Einstein as your benchmark.
Plus, as stated by others, you lose the bonding opportunity.

nkdsocalDec 6, 2025When I was getting too old for baths, I started showering with Dad to learn how big boys get clean. I remember being afraid of the shower spray. I always thought it would hurt my eyes. Those first few showers I took with my eyes completely closed, fumbling around for the soap. Of course, I soon learned that the spray stays in one place, and it's easy to position your head elsewhere. But still, the spray is a concern for those 4 feet tall. Throughout my boyhood and teens, we camped and hunted/fished a lot, and this meant a lot of situational nudity, skinnydipping, and gang showers. I loved it all!

Before me and my dad started showering together we used to take baths. We have a big Jacuzzi tub so when I was little I loved to take bubble baths with him.

Thats sounds perfect. I loved showering with my father and yes it was a fantastic bonding experience. Id visit a friend of his and wed also shower together. That was a lot of fun seeing someone different.

Nudity was not allowed in my family growing up but the boys and dad had their bathroom in the basement with no doors, just an open room. I never close my bathroom door and consider bathroom use as normal part of life. Males should not be so uptight about being nude with others
