Hey everyone I was curious about when you are obligated to wear swim wear what is your go to? Swim briefs or board shorts?
I love both. Briefs for the limited fabric and the closest thing to being naked, how ever I find they can be restricting. On the other hand I do enjoy wearing board shorts with nothing underneath and I find it to be very unrestricting however the extra fabric robs me of the felling of the wind and sun on my skin?
I look forward to hearing you responses

Tom DMay 5, 2026
I get this sort from Temu for about a fiver, so they are practically disposable - and cut the lining out My latest Temu purchase is a pair of very lightweight shorts with a press stud between the front and back - ideal for a quick cover up if required. One pic shows them buttoned and one unbuttoned.
Where can you wear it unbuttoned? Can you safety crouch or bend over if you do?ReactReply - MEMemberMay 15, 2026
Personally I prefer a brief cut if I need to wear a suit. Lately I have Sporti brand. I find tha5 if you size up and cut out the front liner they are not that restricted. I also like runn8nt shorts. Typically Soffe brand.

TonyMay 19, 2026My preference is board shorts, and I do own a pair in case it's needed. For me its about feeling I restrained, and speeds and briefs feel like everything is tied up in knots. I'm comfortable when it can all hang loose, whether it can be seen or not.

However, my swimsuit of choice is a fairly short pair of tan through swim shorts, not long heavy board shorts.ReactReply - DO
donbh1May 20, 2026My preference is the hipster style which is the best of both worlds - not baggy shorts or tight speedos- still room to move around.
