Hey everyone I was curious about when you are obligated to wear swim wear what is your go to? Swim briefs or board shorts?
I love both. Briefs for the limited fabric and the closest thing to being naked, how ever I find they can be restricting. On the other hand I do enjoy wearing board shorts with nothing underneath and I find it to be very unrestricting however the extra fabric robs me of the felling of the wind and sun on my skin?
I look forward to hearing you responses

Usually board shorts, speedos when I'm scuba diving, they don't ride up under a wetsuit.

If I have to wear something, it will be a Speedo or if permitted a Thong.

As a nudist, I can definitely relate to your thoughts. Personally, whenever I *have* to wear swimwear, I lean toward the minimal side, something that feels closest to being free, like briefs. Theyre not perfect, but at least they dont drown me in fabric.

Board shorts are comfortable in their own way, but for me, they feel like Im carrying half a towel around, and it takes away from that natural connection with the sun and water that I enjoy so much about swimming nude. At the end of the day, nothing really compares to the simple, unrestricted freedom of swimming without anything at all.

But when the situation calls for it, Ill always choose the option that reminds me most of that freedom.

Lighter weight, dry faster and less restrictive.

The closest thing to being naked is certainly not briefs. I sometimes wear a Magic Silk G string - feels almost naked, it's not restricting and my sexy ass (see profile) is bare and aired. Fuck briefs.

When I have to wear something, I wear a micro thong. It's the next best thing to being nude.

I have two options, a brief suit in the style of the 50's and 60's, almost no inseam and only slightly loose. Today's fabric does dry quickly. The second is a pair of Lycra exercise shorts, light stretchy, and also dry quickly. Perhaps legal, but frowned upon by some because the reveal a bulge in the front.

I don't wear underwear or swimsuits. I make sure to never feel obligated to wear what others deem as necessary.

Does tan thru swimwear work - ie are they effective at enabling total tanning and yet also effective at not letting anything show through when it would be inappropriate for anything, eg a cock, to show through?

You need to use SPF30 or higher to avoid tan lines.

Yes they do work, but they are about the equivalent of SPF 15 lotion, so bare skin will get more exposure. Also, the seams pretty much block all sun, so you need to readjust occasionally to move the seams around or they will leave noticeable lines. Make sure you get quality suits. There are many knock-offs that do not last long. The Original SOLAR suits doesn't seem to be in business anymore ( lifestylesdirect.com ). Kiniki ( kiniki.com ) is now probably the best. I love the tan-through fabrics for the light-weight and quick drying-qualities more than the tan-through aspect. I've never actually got around to trying to quantify the tanning with any degree of rigour.

I also liked how when my wife had one when, as she lifted herself out of the water, each hole momentarily held a drop of water that really highlighted her curves in the sunlight. That and the fact that parts of her body subtly defeated the tan-through pattern. :-)

I get these from Temu for about a fiver so they are practically disposable, and cut the lining out

I like to wear speedos. White aussiebums that goes transparent when wet. Even at public beaches.

One pic shows them buttoned and one unbuttoned.
