When you have to wear a swimsuit, what do you wear.
Speedo solar has been my choice in the past, but since I stopped wearing underwear I find it very constricting even though the coverage is minimal.
Any suggetions?

I just checked Cooltan and they didn't have any suits that I regard as brief- their swim briefs were all 4" or 2" side with no 1" side, tangas or thongs.ReactReply - TD

A better way of saying it would have been that Kiniki makes briefer suits and Cooltan ones with more coverage.ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterJul 7, 2019
I have many pairs of the cool-tan tan thru boxer and speedo type suits. I keep the boxers at each door as well in case I have to put something on if someone comes to the door. I love the feel of the boxers as they are so thin. They dry quickly and are very comfortable.
Then you don't put on a shirt to answer the door? I don't, but it surprises me how many nudist men on this board say they do.ReactReply - JE
JeffJul 7, 2019Thanks for the tip I just ordered a pair of Cooltan board shorts

OllyJul 7, 2019My sister treats me to a P&O textile cruise every second year. As in previous years, this year's cruise is immediately before I go on a nude holiday. I definitely don't want tan lines. I have 2 pairs of cool tan, tan-through shorts for use on the cruise liner deck. They are equivalent to factor 50 sun block. I put that sun block on the parts not covered by the shorts. That way I can sunbathe complying with the P&O (textile) dress code without getting tan lines. No problems either way.
Incidentally the shorts are very light weight, comfortable and fairly figure hugging.

JohnJul 9, 2019
They don't get much use for sure but they appear to be as good as the day I bought them.
I had a pair of shorts that didn't get worn until I decided to wear them on holiday. The turned out to be so rotted that my penis popped out through the rotted material at a beach bar, much to the amusement of the waitress serving me and my wife who was watching from our table.ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterJul 10, 2019
Tan-thru is really good, speedo trunks are my go to unless its competitive swimming/training.
What do you wear for serious swimming? That is the place where speedos are most common.ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterOct 20, 2019
Years ago, before becoming a nudist I saw an ad about the tan thru swimsuit. I got a tan thru swimsuit (Micro) and liked the feel and sheerness of them and started laying in the sun in the backyard. It felt like I was wearing nothing while laying under the warmth of the sun and would dry quickly after getting wet. I wore them so much that the front of the became very faded, then one day I decided to remove them while laying in the sun and enjoyed the feeling that I never needed to wear them again. I got hooked on the feel and for the freedom of being naked and have spent many hours in my back yard while getting an all over tan.
What do you wear now when you have to wear a swimsuit? I got a micro but the top of my bush and crack were exposed so I decided to get and wear a standard brief instead. Too much exposure for clothing required venues. I was already sunning and swimming nude in my own pool and going to a clothing optional beach when possible.ReactReply - KI
KilgoreTroutOct 20, 2019I have tan-thru swimwear which allows some of the sun's UV through. Not see-thru though.

ShavedNudist27Oct 20, 2019I wear a micro thong, it is the closes that I can get to being nude and yet wearing a swimsuit.

Tom DOriginal PosterSep 20, 2020Has anyone tried Cooltan swim briefs?
I would think that the soft lightweight material would minimize the confinement feeling while the brief style provides maximum freedom of leg motion, but would like the opinion of someone who has actually tried them.ReactReply - MEMemberSep 20, 2020
they are great so comfortable, even when traveling wear , wore them into rests stops and convenience stores no issues

Tom DOriginal PosterSep 21, 2020
Don't have any yet, but seriously considering buying some...especially after all of your rave reviews...
I only have Cooltan shorts not briefs.ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterSep 21, 2020
they are great so comfortable, even when traveling wear , wore them into rests stops and convenience stores no issues
Are you referring to shorts or briefs? While it would be legal to go into a rest stop or convenience store in briefs, I think that it would draw a lot of unfavorable attention.ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterSep 21, 2020
I like to wear Speedos for lap swimming. I find that they are the best since they fit perfectly and last long. For the beach, I might take something with more color, like my Buddgysmugglers. I love those because they are so much fun! Although I do love skinny dipping, I would never do lap swimming nude... it"s just not comfortable at all to have your penis moving around while you swim. Speedos keep everything in place :D
I swim (45') laps nude in my own pool often and find it much more comfortable than wearing anything!ReactReply - JO
JohnSep 21, 2020I take a tan-through tanga when I go to a hotel with a pool but the pandemic restrictions meant that this time we had to book a pool session where we had the pool to ourselves.
Result: three more hotel skinny-dips.ReactReply - 85
85springerSep 22, 2020I have the coo tan surfer suit with a busy pattern. The pattern reduces the see through. Tan through is hard to tell because I only use them when we have company. They are very clingy & I have to adjust eacvh time I get out of the pool. T shirt is ok. That's my report

i do lifeguard work at a couple of apartment building pools. at one i got to wear the uniform they gimme -- baggy jams shorts -- at least they loose so is space so air can breeze up legs - n i never tie the waist so there is a space air can come in out the top (i guess if i jump in to save somebody wearing these like this they will slip off when i hit the water - but i assume i get a pass for that cuz i save a life so aint worried). the other place i work at i get to wear what i want. so i found me a speedo style suit - not a thong but very brief - banana hammock they callin it haha - close to my skin color so look and feel naked like i like to feel. it's thinnest stretchy lycra - and i pull out the inner layer so just one layer lycra so it's like a thin extra layer of skin can feel any breeze - i lay my piece to the side like on the hip so i dont have to squeeze it up or tuck it back - and the pouch part then only got to hold my nuts. it's mostly males come to use that pool and nobody care. when females come in i got a pair of like shorty short onion skin running shorts also same color my skin i slip on over the speedo - so same like feeling but more polite for females. one the male members - we cool we friend - joke when i put on the shorts lookin like my raw junk hanging out the leg underneath since speedo same color my skin and speedo so thin it show alla details underneath anyway. he sayin probably if i shave my junk and just wore the shorts without the speedo it would look the same as when i wear it. since was just him and me there, i ducked quick into the men's spa part and shaved down there and came back in just in the shorts and spread my leg so it expose - and the member he go around and check it out from different angles and yup it dont look much different with my raw skin hang out as when i wear the skin-color speedo underneath. lighting is very soft and got like all bronze mirror walls so everything like gold glow and shadows so that help. so i do that whole shift that way and every shift since. i get nothing but smiles - nobody looking at my package anymore than usual - which is every time they come in - and i get nothing but smiles. if females come in i don't spread my legs - but the couple few do come in is all business just doing they laps so they hardly looking at me. at this place i'm the one open in the morning if on early morning shift and lock up at night if on night shift -- i just got to text a pic when i get there and when i leave punch in -- manager just pop in now and then and he cool. other place wear i got to wear the jams manager stay late doing admin work after we lock up and don't mind i do laps skinny dippin. he join me sometimes too.

Tom DOriginal PosterOct 5, 2020Cooltan swim brief arrived yesterday.
Comfortable. Smooth, soft material. Not too confining.
It doesn't have a drawstring.
For anyone that has one, have you ever had trouble with it slipping down during active swimming?ReactReply - TD
Tom DOriginal PosterOct 5, 2020Not a problem for me. I don't dive head first.
Probably shouldn't try body surfing,ReactReply - ST
SteveNov 11, 2020I've never had a problem with having no drawstring. Short of high diving and possibly boom netting (is that still a thing?) they should be fine.
I have some Thinskinz suits. Wonderfully soft and thin but go real dark in potential transparency is an issue. I have chocolate brown (fully opaque) and burnt orange (can tell when wet but not too obvious against my Caucasian skin). Of course Skinz change their colours continuously. Since they're unlined, there's a fair bit of detail showing.
