Surprising how many men have mentioned wearing underwear in this forum and related groups. I would have expected that most male nudists do not. For those of you who usually wear underwear when you are clothed, why do you do so?

Jun 11, 2018I wear jeans and find that they can chafe the sensitive areas. I prefer something soft next to the big guy.

I will go commando occasionally, but if I'm not nude prefer underwear to keep things in control. That means jockeys or boxer briefs. Jeans are too course and I really dislike the feeling of being in the wrong pant leg, especially when working on something where I must be up and down all of the time.

Jun 15, 2018I usually wear underwear for day to day activities like work or running errands. But if Im doing yardwork or running or similar I skip the underwear and wear loose shorts just so everything breathes better esp in the Florida heat/humidity.

I've been going commando for years. On the rear occasion that I wear underwear I'm reminded why I hate it. As far as I'm concerned it is just another example of an unnecessary piece of clothing.

Jul 15, 2018When Ididwear underwear :) it was mainly due to jeans be a little harsh on body parts not covered if underwear isn't worn... but I then discovered flannel lined jeans and consequently underwear is history. Flannel is the best thing since sliced bread imo.ReactReply - AL
Jul 15, 2018I wear underwear for different reasons in different situations. Usually at work because I have been known to give a presentation and later discovered my fly wasn't zipped. Not so much an issue when I am in shorts with a loose tee shirt (ie, when I am not at work). Another reason is if my belly is giving me trouble. And always on long haul flights because sitting in an airplane seat my man parts get all crunched up and my boxer briefs provide some protection.

While I was transitioning to not wearing underwear, my wife noticed that my supply was getting small and worn out looking and I was not wearing underwear every day, so she bought me 6 more pair and put them in my drawer. I hadn't told her I was working toward not wearing underwear at all up to that point, but I did then.ReactReply

Lee[/quote] Yes, I have some Obviously boxer briefs. I wear them occasionally. Actually even wore them to an underwear party once. They fit pretty good but they are designed for a body that has a smaller butt than I do. They are pretty expensive but I guess if you are 50% commando the actual outlay is not so great. For sure, loose shorts and commando when practical.ReactReply

I don't see the need if you are conscientious of complete cleanliness. If you have issues with keeping yourself completely clean, then by all means, you should wear underwear to address that issue. As some people get older and experience loss of muscle tone, it's probable that underwear is a necessity. Thankfully, I'm not there yet and hope never to be. As far as comfort; chaffing, pinching seams, rough fabric, I've not had that issue in a long time. Initially, when I began going commando in HS, my Levi's would rub a couple of areas and it became a little tender but that subsided quickly and I've not had any issues with that. I can't stand to wear underwear. I feel like I am being strangled. I also have a problem with elastic, so when I take them off my waist looks like it could start to bleed at anytime. I have the same problem with socks. The only time I wear any is when I go to the doctor, because I don't want to shock the young innocent nurse. My GF laughs and asks if I have any idea how many people she has seen going commando.
