Creating a sense of community — Website Upgrades and Opinions on True Nudists

Let's make it easier for people to find each each other. I like that individual members can be searched by area, although the zip code search is kind of hidden. The same mechanism could really help organize "groups". I live in an area in reach of a handful of states, and guessing at all the names to search for possible groups in my area is daunting, attaching an optional zip code to a group's description would really simplify this manual task.

An "events" link would be awesome! (also zip code friendly). A place for members to organize and host events / gatherings. I'm and infrequent user, so perhaps I don't fully grasp all the nuances of this site, but I don't get a strong sense of life and activity when I log in. I want to search my area for groups and events, see people excited about the next picnic, party, or swim, and talking about how much fun the last one was. I love that nudists from all over the world can meet virtually, but I'd like to see options for congregating on a local scale.

Love the "events" option in our profile, are / will we be able to search events too?

Just need to find a suitable venue and set something up...

i think the entire world should be our community, and disagree with the new search structure. also in canada it doesn't work at all. we just get a blank page when we try to search anywhere. we always could search within our own countries, searching by cirumference of locality only works if those people entere their zip or postal code, etc. i doubt this program could handle the function for european countries etc (as it can't handle canada postal codes)

i would like to see a search for common interests - hiking, or antiques, travel, kayaking, etc.

I second that! The most useful search feature (for me) would be to search keywords. Yes, we all like to be nude but that is a pretty limited topic of conversation so it would be great if I could find others into folk music or travelling or paddling or whatever. Maybe the TTs will read this and take up the challenge.

Absent within-site support for keyword searches, you can use google, thusly:
site:www.truenudists.com/nudist-men/ searchterm(s)
site:www.truenudists.com/nudist-women/ searchterm(s)

with no space after site:

likewise, the forums, or any other publicly accessible part of the site.

For declarations of common interest, group membership is a signal of that - most groups seem to be nothing more. And there is a keyword search on the Groups page, which searches group names. I agree that it would be nice to have a way to search for regional groups geographically, rather than have to guess what city / state / beach whatever was used to name the group.
