Mar 24, 2013Team True,
Would you please consider changing the photo guidelines to eliminate the hordes of "sexy", lingerie photos? While I realize there is some contention over "clothed" photos being permitted, at least that makes sense and of course naturist photos make sense but the ONLY reason to post lingerie photos is to convey sexual meaning and it's a huge reason I've never recommended this website to any of my non-naturist friends. It's not the only reason, but it's certainly a big factor.
Too many newbies come here and get entirely the wrong idea about what naturism / nudism is and now that you have done such a great job of cleaning up the forums and chatoom , I would dearly like to see you tackle photos.
And it wouldn't hurt if you deleted the profiles that haven't been accessed in 5 years. :)
Thanks for listening,
Karen

ManOfWicklowMar 24, 2013I agree with you, Folklover, thes pictures have nothing to do with nudism. And, I am sure this would be the opinion of all true nudists. Although TN has managed to divert many of the pornographic images from the perverted members over to the trueswingers site, many of the obvious (nothing to do with nudism pics) still remain in order to generate revenue. The number oftrue nudistson this site is extremely small.
The site has three types of members -
1 - genuine nudists
2 - people who think they are nudists.
3 - Those who don't know the difference between nudism and porn.ReactReply - FL
FlokieOriginal PosterMar 24, 2013You're right, MoW and the number threes are NEVER going to get it if we keep reinforcing those ideas here. The number twos just get confused because many still haven't visited a club or beach and think this site represents nudism.

JohnMar 24, 2013I definitely agree on getting rid of the ancient profiles. In another thread we looked up the numbers. I don't remember exactly, but I seem to recall that well over 50% of the accounts had not been logged on for several years.
You can also add removing the obviously fake "Single Female, gay, only interested in women" profiles with pictures obviously lifted from the web. The one I called out in "her" profile quickly deleted my comment, but oddly didn't 'defriend' me. My opinion, you have 30 days to certify, or your gone. Or at least banned from loading pictures. If you can load pictures, you obviously have the capability. If those picures are nudes, there's no reason to not send a clothed and nude one to TT with your name on it.

No picture uploads or viewing of any kind until certified may
keep a lot of the lurkers out.
Yeah ... I've done this before but just to get some current numbers I took another peek. Only about 64,000 have logged in over the past year and fewer than 50,000 in the past six months. Of those, a significant number are completely empty, some others are fake and that probably leaves about 10,000 sort-of-active users.
It probably would weed out a lot of lurkers if there were some sort of restriction on photos because that's what the non-participants are here for.

Addendum:
I just went back for another peek and if you limit your search to certified profiles with a a profile pic, only about 8500 have logged in over the past twelve months! The numbers here are hopelessly inflated.ReactReply - BA

Wow not to steal the thread but this makes me wonder why my Popularity is listed as 10,300. You mean the fakes that do not login are more Popular on the site more than the real folks that post every day?ReactReply - FL

And, of course, some of the fake profiles have some pretty sexy photos associated with them - they get viewed frequently. That could be part of the explanation.ReactReply - WH
whocanMay 18, 2013My two pence:
I think you have to be very careful about 'banning' certain types of photos. What is titillating and sexy to one person may be entirely normal to someone else. I think you are in danger of defining what naturism is, and that could and would alienate a lot of true nudists.
I am in favor of the other amendments mentioned on this post however. Delete inactive accounts, they serve no purpose other than for the site to claim they have more users than other sites. In real terms there are a lot less people.
Secondly I would be in favor of some form of compulsory certification. It is a lot like when using on line betting websites, they require you to prove that you are the cardholder and thus over 18 (in the UK). In this day it is not difficult to send two pictures for verification of who you are. If everybody was certified then the community would be more closer because we wouldn't always have the doubt in our minds saying 'is this person who they say they are!?'ReactReply - RE
renebbareMay 19, 2013By definition naturism/nudism is the lack of clothing. And most if not all of us wear clothes when prudent to do so.
I fail to see what lingerie photo's have to do with naturism?Lingerie is hardly protective in any way, and most would agree, is titillating.
While I agree great care must be taken with 'freedom' and banning, surely a last resort? The real question is why some profiles wish to be seen by others in this 'sexy fashion', when we all eschew sex in nudism.ReactReply - RA
Underwear, to many trying to become "true nudists", is a step to total unclothed freedom. Some might be trying to convey a sexual meaning, many others are just not ready to make the jump to nude. Don't judge, not everyone on here is a true nudist....yet!! Even the posting count has degrees of nudist....from barefoot, to UNDIES ONLY, to Super nudist. If your gonna show your undies, make sure they're clean and wear your favorites!...some might be sexy! Would it be more acceptable if they were wearing unflattering granny panties and bras?ReactReply - MEMemberMay 25, 2013

Underwear, to many trying to become "true nudists", is a step to total unclothed freedom.
Hmmm... Some food for thought there. I can see the point about wearing your best undies. Haha. But there are photos on here that disappoint me. There's no place for photos of people laying on their beds. And yes, it's natural... But I don't like it on here. As far as the discussion on profiles. I'm a sometimes user. I drop in and read the forum and then a few months later I'll take another look. I'd encourage people to remember that some of us are very busy and finding a quiet afternoon to join in on discussions and feel a connection. I've been to sites where time has past and my account has been put inactive. I had to resubmit my password and recover the profile. I was happy with that. Place profiles as inactive and hidden perhaps 12 months after their last payment was made with zero logins? 13 months for non paying members. I'm just pulling that out of the air but I'd be happy with that.ReactReply
