How many of your peers have you told that you are a nudist?

I have never hidden it but don't go around advertising it either. If it comes up I tell people about it. It has never been a problem with anyone.

Quite a few of our friends and relatives know. Even my wifes mom knows. Even more know we let people swim in our private pool nude and join them. Including one of my co workers I graduated high school with. She I think with a little coaxing would try it but I won't push I just offer the pool. No one seems to really care and I think most are a little jealous.
I do feel really bad for the younger generations. When we were growing up in the late 60's and early 70's nudity was no big deal. Getting naked didn't mean you had to automatically have sex. Skinny dipping in the creek or a private pond or pool was just fun.

I have to a few people and then was surprised when a couple of them told me they were too. Was nice to find out I actually did have more in common then I thought.

I would love to shout from the rooftop that I am a nudist and proud of it.  I believe we do need to educate people about the true nature of naturism.  There are still a lot of strange ideas about we do at those...colonies.  lol  However, as an earlier post stated I am not in a position professionally where I can be the vocal supporter I would like to be.  That being said here's one for you all:  I'm a nudist and proud of it!!!  (say really loud)  cn

If people in this area don't know, they've either been in a coma or living under a rock.  I have appeared on a couple of TV shows (local) as well as in a university magazine and various newspapers and regularly on radio.

New people in my life learn shortly after I feel they learn who I am .

I only have told 6 of my closest friends. They wanted to know where I went all the time in the summer alone. So I told them I went to Mazo Beach and a resort here in Wisconsin. A couple of the girls said they would go with me to the beach, but I'm still waiting haha.

I've told a few friends. They're mostly people who never judge, are fine with casual nudity, or both.

Anyone who knows me or knows of me usually knows I'm at least a skinnydipper aka nudist.  If they don't and live in this area, they have either been in a coma or living under a rock.  :)

I only need to mention which beach, and they smile knowingly. As it is most of our friends are nudists and many from my partners work suspect.

If they ask we will explain and invite for dinner or beach, a few take us up on the offer!

Pretty much everyone - if I behave as though this is something shameful that needs to be kept secret then I am allowing the stereotypes to continue.
Besides, I'm not very good at keeping secrets.   :-)

Any that have ever been invited to our pool, any who have asked, and any where it might come up in conversation, like "we have a pool" friend "do you skinny dip", me "yes, we are nudist and that is the only way we swim" friend "don't you worry about the neighbors seeing" me "no, the only ones who can see already know"

I see a lot of comments here from people who stay silent about they fact that they are nudists/naturists and I can empathize with the many reasons.  However, if WE act like it's a dirty little secret, how can we ask others to "accept" us and "respect" us?

I'm not out to change the world and I don't force my nudity on others or proselytize (too much) but at the same time if someone asks about my holiday plans, I'm definitely telling them about the naturist festival I attended.  Why wouldn't I?  It's not illegal, it's not shameful and it's a part of who I am.
