After meeting with Ray (of Ray & Jane) in August, he suggested (with our help) to organise a trip to his field in Dorset where he is nurturing an orchard and looking to make it their haven from home. The date was set to the weekend of 17-18 Sept 2011 for a general nude get-together (mainly of Hampshire folk), BBQ and camping on the Saturday night. Using our list of Hampshire couples on another site we sent out an invite to join us for the weekend. Perhaps due to the short notice and/or the basic amenities offered in the field, there were not many takers although some were keen to come along for the nood & food bit. The day arrived; checking the weather before we left, showed it was not looking too promising for nudity, BBQing or camping. But we headed out to Dorset anyway, thinking it would be an experience and a chance to meet some new (nude) people. On the journey, we passed thought some bright sun and heavy rain and hoped we were heading for one of the sunny patches. Closing in on our destination which was at the top of the South Dorset Ridgeway, we encountered rivers of water cascading down the road (we we glad we were staying at the top!). We found the field easily with the help of a few print-outs from googlemaps unlike the satnav users who had to phone ;-) Driving into the field around 2pm, having just missed a heavy shower, we were greeted by Ray, who told us that unfortunately Jane was not going to be able to make it as she was not feeling well. To kick-off he made us a nice cup of coffee from his well-equipped van, and provided some really horrible (Rays words) apple cake. The next to arrive were Paul & Jo. Next Tony arrived with his mini grey tractor from the 1950s which he had lovingly restored over the last 15 years. Sadly Paul & Jo only stayed for a drink and chat before Paul was called away on work commitments. After dodging a few showers Tony took the tractor out to plough a section of Rays field. Getting into the nudist spirit and braving the elements Tony got nude and we took some pictures of him on his tractor. Putting up the tents, Ray took the plunge and went bottomless... we were not keeping up our end of the bargain ;-) While Ray & Tony were busy in the field, we decided to go for a wander and check out the surrounding area. There were plenty of well-labelled paths from our location it was easy to see the weather for miles around. Unfortunately that also mean we could see the rain coming too, and we were subjected to another killer rain storm. On returning Ray and Tony had started the BBQ (for the second time since the rain had put it out once already). We set to cooking some BBQ-type things and the weather held for a while but it was much too cold for any nudity now. The guys worked on sorting an open fire which we sat round wishing we had some marshmallows to toast, but enjoyed the peacefulness and, while the clouds had retreated, the clarity of the stars above. Sadly the rain was soon back and we had to flee to the van a couple of times for shelter. Eventually we conceded to the weather and retired to our respective tents for the night. Thanks to the tent we borrowed from Paul & Jo we stayed cosy and dry as we heard the rain pounding and buffeting wind outside; it seemed to continue for some time... Morning came and it did not look like the weather was going to improve. We decided, for us, it was time to go but not before a coffee and goodbyes. We all agreed that we should try this earlier in the year next time. So we left the field and had not managed to get nude once! We decided that even though the weather was not great we should investigate the beach at Seatown; Ray had indicated that there was a nude section beyond the rocks. When we arrived the weather was still grim and we walked down to the beach in our waterproofs and wellies. At the entrance someone had created some cute art in the pebbles which made us smile. Looking down the beach to our right we saw that the tide would not allow us access beyond the rocks and to the nude part. However, heading down the beach we found ourselves alone and, while Jo was taking a few pictures of the beach, Steve had nipped behind a big bolder only to appear nude heading into the rolling waves. As the sun finally appeared, Jo snapped some pictures as Steve was surprised to find the water was warmer than expected. Jo could not resist giving it a go and stripped off to try out the surf too... exhilarating! Sadly another rain cloud was heading our way so we said goodbye to the beach and headed off. As we had driven all this way out we thought we would enjoy the coast and headed for Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. We walked, had a strange lunch and even some sun. On the way home we stopped off for an impromptu leg stretch after getting stuck in some slow moving traffic on the A354. The sun was out again and we went for a walk at Martin Down Nature Reserve. Steve took it to mean Naturist reserve and stripped off and had a nice stroll in the countryside and a photo shoot. Then it really was time to get back home.
