Progress?

It all started with a Christmas email message. I received an email on Christmas eve from a friend on this site and he attached two photos; both of him and his wife who were quite predictably nude. After we had opened our few gifts on Christmas morning I told Judy about receiving a message from a friend with a couple of holiday photos and asked if she would like to see them. She indicated that she would so I opened the laptop and pulled them up. She scanned the two pics without comment then told me that she had expected the photos to be of them in the nude and asked me to refresh her on what the friend does. As I began telling her why we were friends and corresponding I opened his TN profile and showed her the collection of photos posted there showing some of his activities and interests and including his wife in several. After viewing those I pulled up the profiles of a couple more friends and showed her their photos as well. In each case I referred to the people as friends and used their names if I knew them. All the friends selected were in the same age range as my wife and I so all displayed at least some of the imperfections that accompany living into the seventh decade of life. I wasn't really prepared for her response. She initially said, "I can't believe how confident those women are!" quickly followed by, "I wish that I were that confident!" In the ensuing discussion I told her again how naturism is not about seeing or being seen, comparing one person's looks to another, or sexual arousal. She still looked a little doubtful so I went on to explain that the fact that I did not mind other men seeing her nude did not mean that I valued her less but rather that it showed I was confident in our relationship, proud to have her as my wife, and wanting to share with her the feeling of freedom and connection that naturism has given me. I think she has started to understand. She even said that she thinks that she can do the photo thing to share with online friends. We will see if that comes to pass but at least she has given me hope. An even more positive development came as a result of me telling her which resorts certain of my online friends visit and that I had talked with some of them about perhaps visiting these resorts at the same time. She suggested that we might pursue that during the coming spring and summer. I am not so naive as to believe that any of these advances are "done deals", but I do have hope that with some gentle coaxing we may be closer than I had previously dared to hope. We shall see.
