Terraced Beds where our giant slash pile was

You've likely seen this - I used to use it as my profile picture, being extremely butch chopping up a slash pile - a bulldozer-built pile about 12 feet high, 20 feet wide, 45 feet long, left over from clearing our lot. After we sifted and lifted all that wood, we planted a basil bed into the rocky ground where it had stood. So, we've dug it deeper, terraced it, and filled it with compost. That's a bird net overhead in the last picture - to allow us to plant things the wild turkeys, chickens, and pheasants would otherwise eat or dig up.
