i have noticed quite a few profiles that are blank or have  restricted access, or photos that are not visable, i.e.  friends only, certified only etc. this is a nudist site, presumably we are all nudists, why post photos/profiles and  block access? i will not except friend requests from people who have blank or restricted access to their profile. i feel we are being a little bit contradictory  when we try to project the image of a safe, open trusting lifestyle on the one hand but can not trust other nudists to see our information? just my two bobs worth!harley

Which is one of the reasons people restrict access to their profiles and pics. Another reason people do not have pics publicly available is the unfair stigma that society places on nudism. Peoples' careers could be harmed if their employers or clients saw them 'naked'.

hmmm, not sure i agree with you there bruce, this is a nudist site, so pix would only be seen by other nudists, and think in todays climate of "discrimination" tend to think it would be a VERY brave/fooolish employer who sacked somebody for being a nudist?  i also think, that is what some nudists think, is the way textiles would think, but i think most people couldnt give a damn about others being nudists.harley

Then you might see people open up their profiles.
If you find the need to peer into others lives via their profile before you friend them on here that's fine, I won't send or accept friendship requests on here unless I have got to know the person on here by communicating with them first as this way I get the vibes I don't get from reading a static profile or looking at nude pictures.

I can't see the real need to be so pedantic over whether one has a filled out profile or a multitude of naked photo's. Maybe we should ban all unclothed photos and watch the unsavoury members depart because the no longer get kicks viewing pictures of naked people especially naked women.

Nudists are not a protected class. It's not a religion, not gender based, or age related. It's not a racial issue or a sexual orientation, nor is it a disability of any kind. Nope, it's a way of life, an expression of freedom and makes us happy. An employer can fire you just for being a nudist. You would have absolutely no recourse in an "at will" state like California. If we could prove that nudism is a genetic trait, we'd have something!

Perhaps, we could claim mental disability since the textiles already feel that we are all crazy. Then the government might be required to institutionalize us in all inclusive nude or clothing optional resorts.

And why do people send friend request without saying anything and when you go to look at the profile it is blank.  Who wants to accept friend request from a blank profile?

RabbitandBunnie and Bruce are both absolutely correct when it comes to employment in the USA. It very well may be different elsewhere but in the USA employers have begun internet searches on employees' backgrounds. Some even require you to disclose all your login id and passwords for social media sites which they then monitor. Failure to disclose this info usually results in termination. It sounds like those in the UK and OZ aren't experiencing this ...yet. BTW have heard some companies are even using facial recognition software now as well. It would be nice if it weren't so,but this is the reality we now face.

May be in the wrong area for this, but I have noticed the blank profiles, blocked pictures, and non certified members on here. I make it my policy to not accept anyone with a blank profile, no pics, or any blockage on here. The other thing is the web cams on here, why have a web cam if your not going to use it to show your body, or the ones who only want to masturbate with others doing the same and also the ones that are fully clothed, there is nothing to see so why bother.. I just feel that there should be nothing sexual about it, and if so you should be band from the site. I don't feel that full frontals, or full rear shots should be banned at all unless there is something sexual about them. If they must then they should take it to Skype and not expose all the good nudist on here to the nonsense, or should I say the porn they are creating. just my thoughts...Mike

I can only guess people have poses of themselves in risque if not pornographic in those hidden pics.

It may also be that people will hide the full nude pics of themselves in case their profile is discovered by friend/coworker etc. Kind of a plausible deniability.

If I receive a Friends Request or an application for a Group of which I am the Administrator and the applicant has a blocked profile, I automatically deny the request. I want to know something about the person before accepting them. Maybe this is too harsh for some people but this is the way I feel.
Employers in the USA have policy manuals and employment agreements that generally indicate that; beyond employment laws, the employment agreement is not promised for any specific term and can be ended by either party without notice. They have policies that address employee behavior that can be seen as detrimental to a company's reputation. To say that Nudism is misunderstood is an understatement of epic proportions. If one is involved in client relations in any way, or if you have any supervisory role, then you better not let people know you're a nudist.
"You're about as wrong as wrong gets. It's painfully obvious not everyone on here are nudists, in fact most of the members on this site aren't nudists. My wife and I have both lost jobs because we were nudists, both in the past five years. Nudism is a chosen lifestyle, thus does not fall under any discrimination laws."(quoted from RabbitnBunny) The 2 quotes/comments above are EXACTLY right, for the good ol' USA. Private company? Not a protected class and they can do what they want for reasons stated above. You could sue, but good luck with that. Who would want to go thru that anyway? Public agency (city/state/Fed)? Maybe, *maybe* less likely to be fired (Fed , at least). But same deal, who would want to go through the trauma of fighting it? And even risk of possibly being classed as some type of sex offender. Even if nothing official done, you're career is dead for all practical purposes, due to the behind-the-scenes talk. You could be a transsexual, polygamist Wiccan neo-Nazi and have no problem keeping your job, or more likely, getting promoted (no offense to any of those folks out there that are any or all of the above. They are examples to make a point of the actual protected EEO categories. ) But be a NUDIST/NATURIST? Sorry, you are a perverted pariah! I'm not looking to stir this pot up, so save your attacks, if you are inclined that way. I think it is just necessary to reinforce the previous statements of reality, because the truth gets lost sometimes in the endless silly fantasizing. It is the reality that many face, and the sound basis for no actual pictures of self (me included) being posted in cyberspace where it can be hacked in two seconds by the Russians. :)

While you may disagree with people restricting their photos, the fact remains that some people may be here only for sexual gratification, and it is perfectly understandable that someone wouldn't want their photos to be used in that context. I fully support those who restrict some photos to friends only. Blank profiles on the other hand shouldn't be.

Many people make you feel only your photos are important and not you as a person. Especially if they are 'comfortable in your own skin' aka nude photos.

It's almost, if not, every day you get comments about how you look, comments about your body or unwanted messages like "hey sexy" ... That get's so tiring. It's makes you feel like an object instead of a person. I have feelings too.

My profile is not restricted so you can get to know me as a person, but I will always keep my photos for friends only because to me they are personal and I do not want to share them with just anyone. Naturists/Nudists or not.

I tried to make friends with someone with a restricted profile once (I saw a post on a forum that I thought was interesting), and I got an angry reply stating that they dont make friends with single men. How was I supposed to know that? Oh, it was in your profile? The one I couldnt read? When encountering a new user (new to me, I mean), I do look at the pics. Mainly because it is just an extra bit of information. I glance through their feed and check their groups too, just out of curiosity. I go through the pictures of people from my area to see if I recognize the locations. It gives me something to talk to them about. I get blocking pics. Too many goofballs on here who want to gawk and comment. Of course, if you set a pic to friends only, then you get the folks writing you who demand that you need nude pics to prove your nudist cred. You cant win, really.

I basically agree, this is a nudist site, so why do people have blank profiles etc un here? They either simply shy and don't want their nude pics appear at unwanted places or they are just not what most of us would define as a nudist.
Nudism is so nice and exviting, but it could turn bad if folks take things in th wrong direction.
