  Sorry you started off with a bad experience. There really are a lot of nice folks here. It just takes some practice sorting out the pervs. I am always careful to check out a persons profile before I chat privately with anyone. That usually gives you a good idea about why they are here. And just because their profile says they are a woman, remember to read between the lines. There are a lot of guys here pretending to be female. If a chat starts going south, dont hesitate to end it and tell them why. If they continue to pester you, simply block them and report them to the Admin. Hopefully you will find a few good friends here. They can help you find more good folks to chat with.

  It's a sad fact bit this site has very few active True Nudist compared to the listed membership.

  Most members are not active, and many that are, are fake profiles of perverts using nudism as an excuse for their actions.

  Weeding out the idiots to find real nudist takes time and you'll be disappointed often.

  The advice of looking at profiles is good, but I'd like to add that you have a look at the groups people belong to, they can often tell a lot about that person that they don't put on a profile.

  welcome to TN. I think there are some wonderful people here. take a look at my friends list for starters.
  when I click on someone's profile I look to see that they have a completed or nearly all completed. I look for a 4-8 real pics of themselves in a relaxed outdoor setting. I prefer those who are certified. and as others have suggested, I look at there friends and groups list to see what interests them.

  There are genuine nudists here who aren't into all that garbage..You do have to look and view profiles. I don't make friends just off the cuff and do have a respect policy written into my bio. If it was a ladies only area I can see your dilemma. Sorry you had a bad experience with the wrong types. Respectfully nude is the way I choose to be . Human and respectful.

  There are VERY FEW real nudists here who have any clue about AANR or TNS. Far too many are abusive and nasty. I have had some rather filthy comments made about photos in my album hence why my album is now private. Most of the so called women here all have private albums and yet so many of the men say nothing about this. A real double standard at work here. It seems that the most civil here are a few guys who are able to carry some kind of intelligent conversation. Others can only carry on the most simplest of conversations (if any conversation at all) and seem to only be interested in photo collection. Far too many ban or block at a moments notice. Unfortunately this site has become known on other sites as a closed clique of a group of individuals who only converse among themselves.
  I would be happy to post some of the filth that I have received along with the name(s) of the guilty party. Either flagging such filth or opening a case seems to accomplish nothing. It's a shame really but it only reinforces the notion that the only nudism worth experiencing is real world nudist at a nudist venue. Too many here claim to be nudists only to eventually admit that they have never experienced any form of nudism. Why waste other's time with such deception.

  Unfortunately it is quite difficult to determine if a profile is fake or genuine.
  Thats true for all Internet forums, social media and of course even more in TN because the differentiation between people enjoying (public) nudity and perverts on the other hand is difficult to make.

  My impression is that there are less fakes in here then in other similar forums.

  I like it though.

  Andy, the OP is expressing her experience on the site, offering advice on how to avoid further bad experiences is not an issue that can only be answered by a woman.

  Being helpful is not gender specific.

  Women (or in some cases, men pretending to be women) often post in the Men's Room forum.

  How many 'ladies' have posted in this room over the past 10 years??? Go back and count them! Why even have a room when basically no ladies post to this room. Might as well create a room for Martians and then see how many post to that room.

  I'm not a lady nor do I pretend to be one :) ...but if you notice at the top of the page for this section the description says "Discussions on Female Related issues with Nudism", which is rather broad for what everyone is assuming is a strictly Ladies Only area. This is something that should be taken higher up in the food chain to clarify the purpose. Although I do see some threads in here that would be better served if they were moved to more appropriate areas of the Forum.

  I myself, am somewhat disappointed. I was hopeing there would be more female members.. But most of the active members seem to be men. I am ok with that. So far i haven't run into that many pervs. But then again i haven't been a member that long.

  I did read your blog post in its entirety, and I agree with 95% of what you describe as the defects in its intentions and design. For true devotees of nudism, it really doesn't have much going for it except for its accessibility.

  And you're right that it caters to men rather than women... men who seem to be interested enough in seeing pictures of naked girls to pay to maintain the site. Women who are interested in the social interaction are given short shrift.

  (I won't even go into the toxic nature of the chat room because I avoid that sort of thing like the plague. I've never found them to be worth my time.)

  I do assure you that there are a few males on the site who are the real deal, and who are looking for kindred souls (male and female) who are the real deal. But the signal-to-noise ratio (to borrow an expression from radio) is pretty high,

  I, too, have an account with MeWe, but haven't found it to be very useful. I'd much rather see (and patronize) a site like the UK's Naturist Corner, and would be grateful if anybody can steer me to such a site.

  I wish there were an active web site that satisfied our expectations, and if there were, I'd support it with a financial contribution to keep it going.

I guarantee that at any nudist beach, there will be annoying men who crawl the beach searching for females but they tend to stick out like a sore thumb and are a minority. They are easily spotted and dealt with. However, it is far too easy for people on line to hide their real intentions and pretend to be nudists when they are not anything even remotely related to nudists. On-line nudism is at best for entertainment. Real world nudism is where people actually meet other real nudists and form real friendships. Some time back I once came across a woman at a real world naturist festival who spent time on line. She told me that one guy after another who claimed to be nudists were actually full of it because once they met (if they met) the guys had no clue as to basic nudist etiquette. She got sick of it, left the on line world, and has stayed in the real nudist world ever since. If you want to be around real nudists, then make the effort to spend time in the real world with real nudists. Otherwise, take the easy way out and spend countless hours on line searching for something that generally does not exists. On line is the fantasy world. The real world is the real nudist world.

This site is like some of the terrible neighborhoods in real life. Crime increases up to the point where the good people give up and move leaving fewer and fewer good people behind left to deal with the crazies and bums. Neighborhoods like this are on a downward spiral and continue until few are left who barricade themselves in their homes and hope for better days. If certain mods and management will not take an interest in helping the good ones here (and they don't) then there is no hope. The site won't fail because the pervs and crazies will keep paying membership fees to keep the site alive but the question to ask is what is left here for the 'good ones' to remain?
