Hey everyone, I was at my local nude area on the weekend, its a tea tree lake which sits behind the nudist beach area. Its clothing optional and i had been swimming there and got out to dry off when an older guy tried hitting on me and asked if i wanted to take a walk in the bush. I am straight, 19 and most of the time go alone, but i don't think this is acceptable, it made me want to leave, which i did. Anyone else have any similar problems?
Im currently looking for mates to share these trips with, and having company would also deter these pervs.

ThomasMar 29, 2010I agree, it is totally unacceptable. Too many people equate nudism with sex, and unfortunately some also thing it means gay for bi. Going with friends will halp deter the advances I am sure.

Gerry-4Mar 30, 2010
Why does it matter that he was older? Would you have been less upset if he had also been 19?
If I read it right, the man who hit on the original poster just happened to be older. The actions would have been objectionable no matter what the age of whoever was hitting on him. I don't think the original poster meant to be ageist.ReactReply - MEMemberMar 30, 2010
I agree, that wasn't right at all. If i were you i would nicely say "No thanks" if he keep pushing it, just tell him to get lost and gives him a lecture about what is nudist is!!

DavidMar 30, 2010It happens. It's happened to me, on many occasions. I just state my position, and the gents usually walk away.

ThomasMar 30, 2010

I am sure it must be 100 times worse for single women. You will always get pervs in these places.
You better believe it!!! Husband and I like to go to the beach in Holland for the day..soak up some sun and relax..just the two of us...but if he dares leaving me behind for like ten minutes to go get some drinks at the beach bar or to go swimming,up they pop...like meerkats in the beach-grass....'waving their little tails' so to speak.... Do they have a radar system to track single women??? Shees!....... It spoils everything for the good guys I'm sure...but when you've been hit on ten times a day by pervs, the next good guy that comes along is gonna get his nose bitten off too....sorry....
I am fortunate that the nude beach I go to has very little of things like that. Maybe one thing that helps is that the area is regularly patrolled and as the signs at endtrance say, lewd behaviour will get you arrested.ReactReply - NJ
njmikeMar 30, 2010I agree with the other respondents - this is unacceptable. This type of behavior is what got nudity banned from Higbee beach in south new jersey. A bunch of losers turned it into a cruising ground for sex ( got listed on a website for this type of behivior), and even many of the regulars got so fed up with the nonsense they supported the ban. Similar bad behavior (in this case pervs trying to take phtoso of younger nudists) had caused problems at gunnison beach a few years back. The park rangers were getting tired of having to chase them away that we risked losing that area too. I do not know where fools got the idea that nudity = sex.
Mieke - carry some pepper spray with you to the beach. Next time some perv approaches you, blast him with the spray. He won't be botherign you again, lol

Being a single guy, I do NOT blame the women, or the couples, on this site and elsewhere, who put up the NO SINGLE GUYS flags. I blame the morons that make it necessary. It's REAL tough to have to live down the mistakes of others on my behalf. Obviously, it's appreciated by no one.ReactReply - GE
Gerry-4Mar 30, 2010Indeed, I remember a commercial that went something like: "So-and-so's sister came home for the holidays. She was sooooo old! Twenty-four!"

jasonMar 30, 2010it is kinda amazing that those type of guys continue with that kind of illicit activity. there is a state park nearby and they commonly use for hook ups and trysts, even though the park rangers and sheriff's deputies make numerous arrests they continue to to use the park. and the funny thing is the arrests for those activities aren't kept secret, they are usually published in the paper.

RoosterockMar 30, 2010A lot of gays are like panhandlers, they can get pretty agressive when they want sex. Others do take a no as a no.

What comes to mind here, is the Nice way of saying F off you perv

SteveMar 31, 2010Well the nicest way to say it is to have a friend come up and ask if you're OK. The second nicest is something like "No, that's inappropriate and illegal." (The formality of the reply avoids rewarding a guy who might be turned on by a more flustered rejection, and carries its own threat.) Some gays too aggressive? It's someguystoo aggressive; if you're male, you'll experience this a gay; if you're female you'll experience it as straight, and ten times more often. Is it important that he's older? Yes. Many, maybe most, guys look for younger partners; marriage statistics bear that out. But it can go to extremes, and the larger the age difference the likelier it is that the fellow is not well-adjusted socially, and that make the approach more worrisome. Yes, there are perfectly lovely May-December romances; I doubt it many of them started with an approach to a stranger.ReactReply - ST

catbirdMar 31, 2010I has hit on while I was at a AANR resort. Bare in mind that I am as straight as an arrow. I was nude sitting at the bar. Some guy (also nude) a couple seats away moved to the seat next to me. He introduced himself and started a conversation. He bought me a drink. He was extremely friendly but quite lovvy dovvy. He kept patting me with love pats. Then he said, "Let me straighten something on you," and then he yanked on my gonads. He immediately patted my butt. Then he asked whether I mind his "straightening something." I objected. Then he apologized for inappropriate touching, saying the word "inappropriate." I was fortunate that this gay guy backed off, when he found out that I am straight. I walked away from him very shortly after then.

kenoHickMar 31, 2010In Wisconsin, our state motto is "WHATEVER."
When I was young I got propositioned all the time even when wearing a winter coat. Who cares? Gays are just hornier. Like a 19 year old male never hit on someone himself haha. Don't get hyper.

Next, we'll hear someone claim the original poster should have felt complimented having a man attempt to pick him up. I once had a guy make a move on me in the hot tub at the old Birch Acres in Mass. Does the fact I felt disgusted (and still do) make me a "homophobe" too?

Unfortunately, there are enough who don't, and they ruin it for the majority. I don't think feeling disgusted at how you were approached by a gay man makes you a homophobe anymore than a gay man feeling disgusted at being approached by a woman makes him misogynistic.ReactReply - RM
RMitchMay 6, 2010IMO, the age does matter. For a 19y/o, to be approached by someone who is 19 or 20 is much different than to be approached by someone who is in their 50s or 60s.
As for the female who said, "now you know how I feel", it is not really similar. For one to be propositioned by someone in a manner outside of their sexuality is much more disturbing than someone within your sexuality whom you are simply not attracted to.ReactReply - MEMemberMay 6, 2010
I would just take it as a compliment. It is not the true nature of a nudist beach...there are rules and expectation and 'cruising' isn't one of them. Whenever someone hits on me that I am not interested in, I see it as a a compliment really. I state my clear "No thanks!" and move on...if they get aggressive (like some people do in bars/nightclubs/staff parties) then leave. In the mean time enjoy the freedom of nudity and be thankful there is another person out there who finds you attractive enough to go up to you and hit on you! One day, that attention stops! :)

RoosterockMay 12, 2010Before we have a witch hunt, the person said would you like to go into the bushs. He was gay and did not know if the 19 year old was or not. The guy was looking for sex. We have guys on this site that want to be friends with some lady and he does not know if she is straight, bi, or gay. The 19 year old did not say he forced himself on him after he told the guy no. We have guys on here that refuse to except the word no, the same way people do in the textile world of excepting no from someone.
We need to quite putting people down for things we are not into. I am not gay, but I don't bother them and I tell them no thank you.ReactReply - LI

Men, women, and couples (gay and straight, young and old) have propositioned me. This is not just gay guys doing this. I wouldn't say to brush it off, per se, just realize that it is still currently part of the problem. I think when we refuse to partake in THAT part of nudism we make it better for all of the true nudists. This can happen anywhere. In fact, I have had it happen MORE at SANCTIONED resorts and spas. I think that one's own experiences will color the good, the bad, and the nude in their own distinct manners.ReactReply - LI

Why? When I went to these places I had a certain level of trust that I would be safe. My trust was betrayed regardless of whether the person was man, woman or a couple.ReactReply - IV
