  I have a female "Primary Care Giver" and  a female Dermatologist. I  have a male Urologist. All have me strip completely nude during a complete examination. Anything less is just plain dumb. If your nude body offends your doctor, find a new doctor.

  I agree with the statement that your doctor SHOULD expect you to be nude for a complete check-up. I did switch doctors when my physician felt he did not need to inspect my skin, genitals, and do a hernia exam.

  It's been a long time since a doctor did a real, physical, exam for me. They seem mostly to focus on their keyboards. I had a severe prostate infection a couple of years ago, and saw two doctors, one of which diagnosed the flu, the other of which diagnosed correctly. Neither of them examined me, or even so much as touched me. When I went in for a colonoscopy, they seemed to want me to fuss with the silly robe, which I did (although obviously once I was under anesthesia they set it aside, so they must have thought the robe was for my benefit.)

  Maybe if my doc years ago had had me remove my clothes he might not have told me what he did.I was sent to him by the company nurse who thought I might have bronchitis.  My doc confirmed that I didthen proceeded to tell me what bronchitis is.   And i quote  " it is an inflammation around your uterus"and kept going.  I think my startled look made him stop.   I asked him if it had been a long day.  His reply " it was a long night"it was 3 in the afternoon.   Needless to say I never thought I would hear those words from my doctor.

  Most of my military career, I have be accustomed to undressing down to my underwear and if nude, I am given a paper gown.  It doesn't  matter if its male or female, its all the same to me. Usually if given the gown, it usually ends up on the floor or table after 10-15 minutes simply because those are uncomfortable and its easier to be completely naked for the doctor to do the exam. There is nothing the doctors haven't seen so Im fine with it.

  [/quote]What a small world. My situation here in Italy is exactly the same. Two females: primary and dermatologist and male urologist. (All free I might add) And half of my hematologists are male and half female. No clothes when it's a full exam in any case.

  most of my doc visits do not require a complete strip. however once or twice a year when i have afull medical or if the doc wants me to remove cloths, i do strip. SO far it has always been a male doc and sometimes a female nurse

  I will get as Naked/Nude as the doctor wants me to be.Been there, done that. Ain't scared and have the Doctor's Bill to prove it LoL ;-)

  I had a checkup and while I was ready to get naked, my doc did it in sections - shirt off, then on, pants off, then on... I thought that was weird but oh well. At least we checked everything.

  The female skin doctor I see at first had me put on that silly paper gown. After I explained that I go to nude beaches and resorts and wanted a complete exam and that nudity was a lifestyle and I was not embarrassed in the least she just said that actually the exam is much easier without the gown and she wished more patients had my outlook.

  My doctor always has me strip down to my briefs.  Being a nudist, I would not have a problem if he did ask for those to go as well.  He does his visual exam of my skin then will reach into my briefs to do the cough test.  For the prostate exam, it's me lying on my side and lowering the back of my briefs for his access.

  For a prostate exam my Doctor wears latex gloves, she lubes two fingers. When she is done she gives me tissues to wipe away the excess lube. Your Doctor either does not use lube, doubtful, or places his well lubed finger into your briefs? Doesn't this stain the briefs.

  Often wonder to what extent the medical profession's general attitude as expressed in most of the above threads is simply a reflection of society's attitudes. Everyone has to be so cautious about litigation that doctors fear accusations if they are perceived as being overly relaxed about nude examination. Perhaps it really is up to us.

  They only Dr. who has had me undress completely in the last decade or so was the optometrist for an eye exam. I figure she wanted to be real thorough with looking at my eyes, so what the he!!.

  I have my annual physical coming up in a few weeks.  Last year was with one doctor but I've found another, more gay friendly doctor and will go to this one this year.  Last year, when the doctor asked me to undress to my underwear I told him I didn't wear underwear.  He said ok and left me dressed and only had my drop my pants for the prostate check.  When I was living overseas the doctors had me strip naked and they did the physical check up that way. Nurses would walk in to talk to the doctor and not bat an eye.  I actually enjoyed the no hang up freedom.  Does anyone ever completely strip for physicals anymore?  If you freeball, do you wear underwear to dr visits?  Should I wear skivvies?

  I suspect most doctors avoid having patients fully strip to avoid the possibility of claims of inappropriate behavior, particularly among women with male doctors since there have been claims of sexual assaults by medical staff while the woman was somehow incapacitated and unable to move or say anything/call for help.
  
  Personally, I'd have no problem going fully nude during medical exams or other procedures and did so once for a procedure for my prostate, teling the nurses during the preparation I am a nudist and was comfortable being nude if they were okay with it.  The response  was "we've seen worse."  I then put aside the paper sheet while they continued to prep me and was laying fully nude when the doctor entered and remained so throughout the procedure.
  
  I also go commando 100% of the time , including visits to my doctors' offices.  I've never received any negative comments for doing so.

You'd be surprised how little couples know about each other."[/quote]I have never even heard of a couples exam.  I've been coupled before though, and I think it's a fantastic idea. In my daily living, I don't normally wear underwear. But I make it a point to wear boxers for a doctor visit.  Mainly for the benefit of the nurse and other staff.  I honestly believe they'd freak out at the site of a naked body. Same at our local hospital here. It's just beyond bizarre.  Anyhow, the boxers stay on through the entire office exam until right at the end for the hernia and prostate check.  I stand up and doc snatches the boxers down only far enough to see what he's doing. Then I snatch them back up and start getting dressed as he dashes out the door. Accepting simple nudity would definitely make things far simpler in that office but.... that's just the way it works around there.

  Last time I went I had to wear one of those paper gowns ,I am tall so standing up was ok but sitting down uncovered everything
