Walter w/ Q. to men of 'lesser' size. When first at a nudist place, aside from normal nervousness, did you worry because (as wwe all know) 'regular' society is about 'bigger' , that : 1. You'd feel all would be staring & judging because of that? ...and 2. You'd get laughed at? Me...I'm a self taught nudist (at home, when parents out) but with an unsure image of myself I thought it possible but once there, it was like being at home. I knew then I'd really love being a nudist. : ] )

SteveJan 21, 2018C'mon, people - the size concern is very, very common and it's really not helpful just to excoriate a newcomer for expressing it. And to the newcomer: there may always be a few oddballs who care (there will be more of them on the internet than in real life) but the nudist community in general is pretty well indifferent to body-standards issues - too big/too small/too fat/ too thin are all comparisons with some ideal; once you're exposed to real people in a wide variety of real bodies it just stops mattering. People relate to you for the way you ACT, not the way you look. Nudism is a great way to get past body image issues, because you stop hiding the body, and your fears just aren't fulfilled.

ZekeJan 21, 2018I'm really rather stun that someone would make another feel unwanted because of their 'size'. If you are a true nudist, what concern is it that he is 'small' in that department. I would rather think that been overweight would be a more major concern. We have our bodies for one reason, to live in them and nothing more than that. If we're going to get hung up on size, and like one guy posted been uncut over cut, then we have our values focused on the wrong area.
Wife and I spent a nice day today at local resort we are members of. There were two individuals that were their for the first time. The female was travelling across the state and had heard we have a wonderful resort. The other was a 40s age guy, very first time he had been nude in public. He was a bit shy, understandable. By the end of the night, he was more relaxed. The single female mention to him, we don't care much about what you look like, it's you as a whole. The rest of us assured him it's the lifestyle and nothing else. Him and I talked more in private while in the hot tub and then in his mobile trailer, repeated what we'd all told him. He was concern about his image and I told him, be yourself and physical stuff will blur the more you take nudism for it. Actually I don't even remember how he looked 'there'...ReactReply - AL
AlJan 21, 2018Happibear, it is worth taking the plunge to get naked with others and if you are like most of us the self consciousness about body parts will disappear fast. Use it as an opportunity to begin to enjoy your bod as it is.
I fret more about what to wear to a clothed party than I fret about how I will look at a naked one. Of course we all think about how we present physically, but you will discover that the folks you want to socialize with don't care about penis size (or wrinkles or tummies, etc). You are self-proclaimed HAPPY, that is what to bring to the social situation.
And for goodness sake, don't subscribe to some claptrap about only looking at peoples' faces. We each have a whole body, it can be acknowledged with eyes. Yeesh.
Let us know how it goes.

Naked_GeekJan 21, 2018
I'm really rather stun that someone would make another feel unwanted because of their 'size'.
As someone who is concious about the size of my penis I'm not worried about someone pointing and laughing at in front of me it but I'm worried about what they're thinking and what they might say when I'm not around. It probably sounds weird to someone who isn't worried about their size but it's like everything mental - hard to explain and not easy for someone else to understand. It's easy for you to say and think "size doesn't matter" or "nobody cares" but harder for someone like me and the OP to. I'm not a naturist yet but want to be. While not the same situation as normal naturism, I've been naked at gay saunas and the longer I was with naked men the more relaxed I got and realised there's nothing to worry about.ReactReply - MRMrRiyuJan 21, 2018
I have to say, as someone who feels a great deal self-conscious about my body, I found that the size of my penis was not something I gave much thought to. In all honesty, I'm probably average/less than average on that scale, but I don't let it bother me because really, who cares? A brief read through some of the "introductory" topics on here will tell you that, at your normal nudist venue, you can expect to see people of all shapes and sizes, both in genitalia and overall body type. And sure enough, on my first visit to a campground, that's exactly what I saw. So for me personally, it really was a non-factor my first time out, and of course on any subsequent visits.

Steve is right. I don't get why some of these people gave the OP a hard time about the question. I came upon nudism as a result of googling 'stress relief'. I had always been comfortable at home clothes free when I could be, and when the nudism result came up, and I started to read and learn beyond the notion of 'nudist colonies', nudism became a goal. When I went to Avalon, I found that it was all that people say--relaxing, judgement free and wholesome. For anyone with body issues, just do it and you'll come out more comfortable with yourself in and out of clothes.
ReactReply - MEMemberJan 21, 2018
I suppose it is a fair question, but the answer is so simple - it doesn't matter. No one cares. We are often programmed to think nudity is wrong (it isn't) and I think that furthers overt awareness of something like this. Nudists and textiles come in all shapes, sizes, races, colors, etc. - those are not the things who define us as people. It's what's in the heart that counts in a person. No one should worry about something like this or feel less than whatever - among true nudists - nobody is thinking about this. You shouldn't ever let this stop you from trying social nudity (if you haven't). Nude we are all equal.

JakeJan 23, 2018First time I stripped in a Nudist setting, my appearance was the least I could care about on my mind. I'd say I'm average, but that's not the point. I just focused on embracing the experience and having positive social interactions with many people there. An environment that creates insecurities about our bodies goes against the concept of Nudism when we have no control over how we were born to be. We should always be mindful of where we choose to visit and who we bring along so that everyone has the best experience they can have.

PeteJan 23, 2018To Displaced Alaskan - no it wasn't you (in my opinion) that gave too strong a retort - it was #4 and #5 that could come across as kinda rude. I think most of us here HEAR where you are coming from. While some folks like 4 and 5 truly don't worry ( and agree -- ideally folks shouldn't) about penis size,I suspect the reality is MOST of us are to a degree somewhat concious of it if not indeed sort of bothered about it. All it takes is for 2 guys with 6 inches soft to walk by you on a beach, look at your privates and grin or snicker -and then you're screwed. The "problem" here is many of these guys here are saying what we are supposed to say ... its all about being free , non judgmental etc... but the painful fact it, while most nudists may feel that way, there ARE some from time to time that will view it differently and will in fact compare. No matter whether a woman or a man , even if it is just one person makes a comment or gives you a "look" , it can stick with you and always be in the back of your mind. Myself, I fall pretty much in the middle I think but I am aware that many guys are bigger there than I am. Now... will my hard on compete with theirs ..probably so .... but that will likely (lol) never be a known fact. I think my point is to validate your feelings that I suspect many of us are aware of our manhood size and wish we were bigger there (since that's why Playgirl, porn etc and women that say "I don't want anything less than 8inches" tell us ). I think that it is indeed a FACT that pretty much all men- whether they admit it or not .... str8 , gay, in between will admit they have , at times at least, checked out other guys dicks in the locker room to see how they themselves stack up. That a stinging fact for those guys on the smaller side. However .... I think ALL the men who have posted here are saying (in various ways) ... don't let it define you, try to relax and enjoy being nude and the freedom it offers, have confidence . The vast majority of men and women will not care, yeah...there may be a few who do - but I like to believe in karma for those folks ;) LOL.. Just take a breath, relax, move on past it and have fun being nude.

I've read the replies and a few seem to misunderstand the question. I was asking, if you not (what society considers normal) and you went nude for the first time, did you feel (because of what you 'may' have experienced in the past) just either nervous or like you 'might' be judged?
I've been a nudist for a long time but growing up when I did, guys made fun of other guys (like in gym class in school where you shared a shower room. I had to shower facing the wall after taking off my towel then, because I knew how guys were. I didn't care if they saw my back, we all have a rear.
So, when I finally got older and went to a nudist resort, despite being nude at home and swimming outback when no one was home, I did 'kind of' wonder if anything similar would happen , in that other's would make me feel uncomfortable. Thankfully they didn't and I found I was more in tune with other nudists than people in the so called 'normal' world'
Yes, society makes people feel 'small' inside because we all aren't over 5 inches down there (or in the case of women, not all 36 in the chest or bigger). I've long since accepted my body and so has my lady, who loves me exactly the way I am. Anyone else opinon of me in the non-nudist world, no longer matters. :)

noodistJan 31, 2018I'm a nudist with a small uncut penis.I've visited both nudist beaches aswell as a nudist club. From my first time nude to this current day I feel nervous when stripping off.It often takes me 10-15 minutes to find the courage to actually stand up and make my way along the beach.Once it's done however I feel great. Not once have I heard a comment, nobody cares.I've stopped and had conversations with young women, older women, attractive couples, couples where the guy is hung, people of all shapes and sizes.I've even bumped into some friends of mine which was very nerve racking. The wife is gorgeous and he's twice my size but nothing was said.To all small guy's i say give nudism a go.You'll soon realise that you've been worrying about nothing at all.

KevLinJan 31, 2018I was self conscious about size before visiting beaches and clothing optional resorts, once there, size made no difference.
Was there guys with swinging larger, sure, but there were guys my size and turns out guys smaller too.
I had a great time, talked to a lot of people, the self consciousness went away and I did not even notice when it left.
Made the next visits no problem.ReactReply - NI
NickFeb 1, 2018It was definitely a concern before I went to my first nude beach. I was young (well, younger) and had no idea what to expect because I'm less fortunate than others, but once I was there my mind was at ease. No one cares. That's the beauty of the nudist lifestyle, there are people of all shapes, sizes, and lengths, and no one cares how you 'measure up', because everyone else is just as vulnerable as you are.
