I've been shaving my pubic area for about 2 years but I usually get a lot of red bumps.  It also gets very inchy.  How do you keep from getting red bumps and ichy?
Try using a moisturizer every day, and a facial scrub lotion the next day after shaving; and then once a week between shaves.  Don't overshave (go over and over same area), and use afresh and sharp razor, not the one used on your face.  Dull razors cut you, by the way, notsharp ones if used correctly.  Razors laying around in a humid environment are feeding grounds for bacteria, too.  Don't be cheap, throw the damn razor blade away more than once a month.

To maintain my overall smooth look, I have to shave about every other day.  I shave in the shower using a 5-blade, Fusion brand razor. For shave cream I use either standard can shaving cream or "Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula" body lotion; the cocoa butter is a good moisturizer and I think it helps reduce razor bumps.

For me Personally I had my pubic area Lasered Totally.  That is IT!  It's a little expensive but it's worth it.
You don't have to worry about shaving again and again.  The Feeling Is Wonderful and my wife loves it.
I also been complimented on how nice and smooth it looks with no rash or bumps.
So the way to go if you can afford it is getting it Lasered, Period.

Have shaved pubes for years but now have gone fully smooth. Shave or use Nair for legs and chest but have pubes waxed every couple of months. Yes waxing does hurt some but the feel is great. I also like the feel of my women's nylon panties on my smooth pubes. Yes I wear them all the time now. Best I have found are Vanity Fair Body Caress high cut panties.

I don't go fully smooth all the time but I'm between shaved and trimmed most of the time. I've found that I can use hair removal creams as well, but the trick is not to leave it on too long. Long enough for it to work, but not so long it burns afterwards! I've found the easiest way is to do the pubic area and the balls separately.

ooooch!! No WaxLaser is good except they don't last as long as some people say they do.If you got the guts to actually pull every hair out 1 at a time,Go for it.But my best way is to get my crotch smooth as a babies butt is use Veet cream.3 min.max & you wipe right off. After i shave my face i put the cream on & then bruch my teeth. When i get done with my teeth i'm ready to wipe. What ever i may have missed i have a razor in the shower to groom it.Well that's my way of doing it.It's worked for 6yrs.now & no repeeve!!

I seems like more men are going with the smooth look.I find it easier to keep the body oder away. Before you start with the wise cracks.I don't have body oder. When i feeel alittle ichy down there i have tried many different things. The most effective has to apply a little deoderant on my thighs & away goes pain & iching.

Most hair removal places will laser your pubs..Just got to know about their Brasilian laser trim.In fact they will tell you exactly what & how they will do this.I went to 1 place that the 1 lady that i talked to  had that kind of laser done to her. She was  even able to put my mind at ease i asked about what happens if i got an erection. She said that 1) if you shave as close as possible before coming in & 2) if you didn't get a hardon they would be surprised. They said that it's easier for them to work if they can move your penis around to get into the tighter places. She asked me if i would show how high up i wanted to go.She just took hold of my penis & showed me the tight spots she was talking about. Then she said it didn't look like i would have a problem getting a hardon as it started as soon as she took hold of it.

I have used Phillips bodygroom TT2021 for 5 years. Using it for armpits, genitials, legs and chest. Easier than shaving with Gillette.
Think it's time to buy and test the new Bodygroom TT2040.
Has anyone tested the Bodygroom TT2040?

I trim my pubic hairs once a week, but shave my entire scrotum and around the base of my penis almost daily. I use a safety razor but occasionally have to use a tweezer to extract that rare hair that escapes the daily routine. Keeping the entire shaft of the penis hair-free is not only visually appealing, but that, combined with a smooth scrotum, also feels better with or without clothing (at least it does for me).

Hi all, now is the perfect time for me to answer this question. I've recently had an autologous stem cell transplant for multiple myeloma and in preparation, I had a massive dose of chemo. Well, all is going well, and in my opinion, better than expected at another level. I've lost all body hair except for a few hairs in my moustache. A month after the chemo nothing is yet growing back and it's great. Maintenance is at 0! LOLPrior to this added side-effect benefit, I shaved every day when necessary. I have been dry shaving for many many years and find it to be the best method for my skin. There's no iritation and now that my skin is used to it, the ingrown hairs are a rarity.Keep smooth everyone, it's the only way to go!Tim

My techniques and views are different depending time of year and things I do.For example I use whirlpool, sauna, pool I make sure i'm shaven day before. Usually my hair regrowth is 48 hours to 72 hours before I look like porcupine. Summer heat, winter cold has some effects on hair regrowth and skin irritation.
Just recently I decided to shave entirely pubes and chest then just my legs and back trimming my pubes. Find winter cold temperatures doesn't aggravate heat rash around my pubes as in the summer months.
Usually during summer months visiting the beach before the weekend I try to shave. Start to exfoliate my skin without using bar soaps but Shea butter body wash to clean my skin for shaving stopping red irritation bumps. Using fusion blade may last month for shaving my body 2x week. After washing in the shower I take wash clothe folding it plugging the shower drain. After about inch or two of water trapped I stand on the wash clothe drain holding the water in. Using aloe shaving gel I start with one leg below the knee lather it and using the fusion blade to shave up from the ankles towards the knee. Next I do the exact same to the other leg. Then I move above the knee and lather my entire thighs and rearend, lifting my leg up against the shower wall making sure I shaven my entire hamstring, once done do the other leg. Usually work my stomach next down to the pubes if I decide not shaving my chest. If I do shave my chest I start shaving before I shower in the mirror making sure I get all the hairs in my upper chest then finish in the shower. In the shower I then trim or completely shave my pubes. Then I go to my lower back and rear end and shave any fine hairs. Turn on the shower and wash my skin again with shea butter body wash with sponge. After drying I moisturize with oatmeal aveeno lotion. Unless I get irritation underarms or pubic region I roll deodorant stick onto problem areas so it won't create any red bumps. Some people say use toothpaste rubbing it over sensitive areas leaving it to dry 30 minutes and moisturize after wipping excess off.
Never do I shave the same day when going to the pool or beach so no red bumps start on my skin. Usually shave Friday night so I'm nicely smooth at the beach on the weekend. Then repeat shaving back on mondayor Tuesday night depending if I plan to go swimming at the pool on Wednesday and Thursday. So I live with maybe one or two days a week looking little prickly.
Sometimes find when temperatures get hot and I wear clothes that trap heat my groin region may become red with rash from shaving 2x week so I sometimes shave there once a week.
It does get easier shaving once you do it often and skin gets use to it. Sometimes for quick fix after noticing I missed spots around the knee or my shins where hair grows very quickly I get the Braun electric shaver out. If I go to the beach three days in row I may need to use electric shaver to make my legs less prickly.
Still thinking of going totally shaven at the beach this summer. Usually I had my pubes trimmed low and chest hair but don't know if totally smooth is a good look? Found to many people staring at my trimmed low pubes and shaven balls and legs, stomach, laughing at me.

Not fully smooth here, but well trimmed. Balls shaved two time a week and at the same time trimming the pubes hair, All done with lot of shawing foam, sharp razor blades and gentle touch! :-)
