  To me odd, strange, don't get it...yes.   Offensive, no. Like someone else said, whatever floats your boat as long as intent is innocent.
  I have been around hen several women discussed a guy that was wearing one and they all thought he was just trying to draw attention to his genitals thus it was perceived as somewhat sexual. They did not care for it but not enough to complain or anything.

  There is no great debate, we've seen two diferent men (both gay) wearing cock rings at the resort we visit.

  I didn't have my glasses on when I first read the thread heading as THE GREAT  C--KING DEBATE.
  To that extent I opened the thread expecting a debate on cooking nude or clothed. Not a session on bodies and mentallurgy or lack of it.
  Once I opened the thread I saw my mistake.  Oops!  Guess I'll head back to the kitchen and getaway from the metallurgy department.

  I think you OP and title could be misleading. Are you talking about genital piercings or a silver ring attached/placed over the balls/c0ck to trap blood and maintain an erection?
  My take-genital piercings are harmless. What is offensive is someone with a bonor, ring or no ring.
  C0ck rings can only be worn for a short time anyway, so you'll unlikely encounter those.

  If it's a mixed gender setting I think they're out of place. In an all male environment not so much although I wonder about the person's motivations. Why wear it unless there's some underlying agenda. Or is it just a piece of jewelry?

  Nothing to think about - it's just different and that is fine with me. A guy has every right to wear one and if someone does not like it then that person should not look and perhaps avoid the guy.

  I've seen guy wear them at the beach. I don't keep count or really spend that much time staring at genitals, but sometimes you notice.

  We have a beach where discrete nudity is practiced.  I was there a few weeks ago and a guy came bye and stripped down and proceeded to walk further down the beach. I noticed he carried his shorts with him so did not think much of it.
  A while later I looked down the beach and he was returning but still 150 yards away.  I could not tell if he was dressed but saw a bright glint at his waist.  As he got closer like a lot closer I saw that he had a blue cock ring and maybe 3 inches of ball stretchers on that were shinny steel.
  I don't really care about the hardware as I have a frenum piercing myself but It was real easy to see that he was not dressed.

  If it's a public nudist beach then anything goes as far as nudity and decoration/bling.  If it's at a club then abide by their rules or don't join.

  Do straight guys wear them? I have only seen gay guys wearing them. In all the poem I have watched and beaches I have been to. I have only seen gay guys wearing them.

  I've seen guys wearing them while at a resort with their wife so I'd say the answer is most likely yes, straight guys do wear them. I still agree with my wife and think they look ridiculous.
