Once a week, I get together by Zoom with guys I went to school with in a Catholic seminary more than 50 years ago. I had not been in touch with any of them more than sporadically in the intervening years until the Covid-19 pandemic. About that time, Zoom became popular and suddenly we started weekly meeting by Zoom. At these meeting, one of us chooses a topic he wishes to discuss for an hour and then a book we are reading for a second hour. Next Wednesday, I choose the topic naturism and would like your help with it. True Nudists promotes non-sexual nudity which I equate more or less with naturism, social nudity emphasizing comfort of both mind and body and a certain awareness of our environment of which we are all a part. But I would like to hear your perspective as well and, if you allow, I would like to share your perspectives with my friends. I won't share your names unless you specifically want me to. I don't think non-sexual nudity is specifically frowned upon by the Catholic Church, but officially or not, nudity gets your attention and, among others, St. Francis of Assisi got people's attention. In addition, I have noticed that many Catholics have profiles on TN and apparently don't a conflict between their religious beliefs and that non-sexual nudity. That having been said, first, I am not just want the opinion of Catholics or even just Christians, but everyone; please respond and wax as philosophical as you want. You do not have to be brief, just honest. In fact, honesty is what attracts my to TN. You can't be dishonest with your bumps and bruises, beer bellies or other bodily imperfections so maybe, just, maybe you are inclined to tell it like it is rather than what you think somebody else wants to hear. I notice that "non-sexual" apparently has different meanings for different people. For example, we are told that photos cannot emphasize genitals, but what does that mean? I have had several photos removed and some of my TN friends have had theirs removed as well. At least my own and my friends photos that I have seen before they were removed did not seem offensive to me, but individuals will not make the same call and that's all right. But it's not just about photos, but social interactions, in fact, IMHO, that's the most important part. Nevertheless, I do not want to influence your opinion, so I think I have said enough about my own. If you can, please put your thoughts in a message to me by early next week so I can I can make them available to my friends from the seminary long ago, I would greatly appreciate your effort. By the way, we are all about 76 years old.
