I once read Eugene O'Niell's play The Great God Brown. From Wikipedia, here's the plot: Dion Anthony and his friend William A. "Billy" Brown are sons of business partners. Both love Margaret, but she falls in love with Dion when he is presented behind a cruel and cynical mask, even though he is a sensitive artist. After the two men inherit the business, Dion retires to paint, but fails and eventually dies. Billy takes the mask and poses as Margaret's husband. By the time she finds out, the "real" Billy has faded away. Brown is accused of killing his "real" self, and only the unmasked prostitute Cybel is there to comfort him. Eventually Billy dies as well, and years later Margaret pledges her undying love to Dion's mask. I hate to wear masks but struggle not to. I can be whomever any of my acquaintances want me to be, but I don't want to with true friends. Often when I expose my thoughts, desires, wishes, who I am, it backfires as with Margaret, Dion and Billy above, and l lose the person I desperately I wanted to be my true friend. They become people I used to know. TN proclaims that they are interested in non-sexual nudity (True Swingers is for that). I thought that people who posted non-sexual nude pictures of themselves with all their bumps and bruises and excessively fat or skinny selves had nothing to hide would be more likely to speak honestly about things that mattered of mutual interest. That, in a nutshell, is what attracted me to True Nudists. Sure, there are some young beautiful Aprodites and young handsome Adonises, competing to outshine others in their cohorts. And, there must be some who wish to see but not be seen by others. I am looking for those who don't care that you can see their imperfections who will tell you what they think and don't get offended if you don't agree with them. To those who are reading this as my TN friends or even wish to be, I treasure seeing all your body parts regardless of whether most would be proud or embarrassed by them. I want to see you as you are, and I want to be seen by you as I am. I don't want to cover up anything, not my body, not my thoughts. I am looking for friends, not acquaintances. I don't want to wear a mask. I realize that even without clothes on, we can still hide our thoughts, still hide the lust we may be looking for, but maybe, just maybe TN friends will be just a little more honest about who they are. I would appreciate hearing from you with your thoughts. Some have already said that I am naive and maybe there is some truth to that, but I think I can tell who is real and who isn't. Not 100% of the time, but give me your thoughts; I would appreciate that.
